MKTG 347 Week 6- The Benefits of Hootsuite

Hootsuite is a versatile tool to add to any successful social media marketing toolkit. After creating multiple social media accounts, an individual can start posting content. Instead of several sign-ins and hoping for the best, Hootsuite empowers social media marketers to oversee multiple accounts in one place. Hootsuite benefits include organizing and tracking social media platforms.

Hootsuite manages multiple accounts from one platform. According to Todd Kelsey's book Introduction to Social Media Marketing, manually posting content on various social media accounts is sporadic. In the beginning, enthusiastic individuals post multitudes of content. As time progresses, posts dwindle due to busy schedules. Hootsuite allows individuals to schedule posts avoiding missed deadlines. When creating a new post using Hootsuite, an individual can input the date and time to publish the post. Posts can be published on several social media accounts. Hootsuite includes a mock-up of the post allowing an individual to see what the post will look like. To add images, Hootsuite allows individuals to upload from their computer or offers a cache of free images to use. Individuals can schedule posts ahead of time, allowing them more time to create content. Hootsuite manages and tracks social media networks.

Individuals can engage in social listening and track ROI by utilizing Hootsuite. The stream tool on Hootsuite uses social listening. Individuals can track when a social media account is mentioned on the network using Hootsuite tools, such as @Mentions. Keeping track of what people say about a company, product, or Facebook page allows social media marketers to monitor and respond to users. Hootsuite tracks mentions and ROI.

Hootsuite includes built-in ROI tools. Christina Newberry discussed some of Hootsuite’s ROI tools in her blog post “How to Prove and Improve Your Social Media ROI (Free Calculator)”. A few Hootsuite ROI tools include: social ROI calculator, Hootsuite Social Advertising, UTM parameters, and Hootsuite Impact. The social ROI calculator allows individuals to manually input numbers to receive a ROI calculation. Hootsuite Social Advertising analyzes and reports ROI on organic and paid content. UTM parameters shortens posted URLs and tracks website data. Hootsuite Impact measures ROI through paid, owned, and earned content. Depending on an organization's objectives, Hootsuite's ROI tools provide a report of the profitability of campaigns and individual posts.

Hootsuite is a platform that benefits social media marketers by managing multiple social media accounts and tracking. Scheduling various posts on Hootsuite saves time. Tracking social media mentions allows individuals to monitor and promptly respond to users. Hootsuite ROI tools track the profitability of campaigns, posts, content, and more. Hootsuite supplies beneficial tools for social media marketers.
