MKTG 347 Week 8- How to Become A Hootsuite Planner

Imagine managing five or more social media accounts. Logging in and posting to each platform is time-consuming and difficult to track. Forgetting to post to a social media platform at a favorable time is a regular occurrence. The task of managing multiple social media accounts is overwhelming. Scheduling and planning posts using Hootsuite can lift the burden of a social media marketer.

Hootsuite allows users to schedule multiple posts across various social media platforms. When creating a post, users can select multiple social media platforms to post on. In the following example, the selected platforms are Twitter and Facebook. Individuals can toggle between the initial content for the posts and the specific platform, allowing them to identify elements such as word count. The word count for Twitter is 280, while Facebook’s is 2,000. Users can schedule the posts for a later date. Scheduling allows individuals more time to create quality content and facilitates an active social media presence. After creating the post, the post will appear in Hootsuite’s Planner.

Hootsuite’s Planner creates a visual overview of posts created using Hootsuite. The Planner’s calendar function can be customized to the user's tastes. Hootsuite offers a weekly, monthly, and list calendar. Using the settings function, users can specify when their week starts. After creating posts, the calendar can be filtered by social media account or post status. The three main post statuses are draft, scheduled, and published. Posts can be created, duplicated, or edited by using the calendar function. Users can easily review posts and make edits using the calendar function. Planner’s content section offers a list view of post drafts, scheduled, past scheduled posts, and posts that require approval. The post can be edited or exported from the content section. Individuals can review posts and identify the frequency of posts in one location. The Planner tool in Hootsuite maps out posts through the calendar or content section.

Creating a plan for posted content using Hootsuite can be crafted by using the schedule and planner functions. Scheduling multiple posts saves time and allows for a consistent social media presence. The Planner tool visually represents the weekly or monthly plan for posts. Posting quality content across multiple social media platforms is a breeze with Hootsuite.
